Hervey Bay in Queensland has a secret side from WorldWar II that was the topic of a recent show on the Channel Seven’s Queensland Weekender programme.   Australian Bunker and Military Museum is proud to have contributed to the programme by providing some video footage of Z Force Special Unit Training.

Z Special Unit trained over 900 soldiers and completed 81 missions over the course of World War II.  Seven Japanese ships in the Singapore Harbour were destroyed in the most famous attack of the unit.

If you are planning to visit Hervey Bay, you can view the 3D mud map used to plan the attack at the Fraser Commando School site.
